                          I Call You Friend

                                                          by Minister Ginger London, MA

In John 15:15 we find these words of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to His disciples, “I no longer call you servants,
because a master doesn’t confide in his servants. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told
me.”  What a wonderful feeling to know that Jesus considers us close enough to Him to confide in us. He has called us
“friends” so that He can share the words and heart of the Father with us.

Friends share important and life-changing moments with each other. Have you ever found yourself talking to a friend
saying something like, “My daddy always told me to put away a little money every time I got paid?” Maybe you said
something like, “My daddy (mama) always told me to say thank you when people give you something.” The important
matters of your heart are usually shared with those you consider to be close to your heart – those you call friends.

Isn’t it wonderful to know that Jesus has told us everything the Father told Him! When we are friends with Jesus we are
friends with the Father. Friends love each other, talk about things, go places together and do things together. As you enter
into a new year communing with God, remember you are talking to a friend. Prepare to express your love for God and
others, to talk to God about things going on in your life, to go places with God on the spiritual journey He has ordered for
your life, and to do great things by the Power of the Holy Spirit.

It is my prayer that as you enter into this new year that you will hear everything that the Father wants to tell you.
