GRINDING: Cutting The Diamond (Part One)
Welcome to Day 5 of the seven day The Making Of A Spiritual Diamond Challenge.

Today is about the cutting of the diamond.........

Cutting is the process which transforms the rough gemstone into a certain shape. Cutting allows the luster and color
to be brought out, and gives the gemstone its fire and sparkle
. When the cutter shapes diamonds by hand, he relies on
the diamond's hardness as his tool -- he uses diamonds to cut diamonds. This process can develop friction and high heat, so
stones may be cooled during the girdling process to prevent cracking. After girdling, the diamond can be polished, washed,
and sold.

Faith Under Pressure

When growing toward spiritual maturity, the spiritual diamond is told to do two things during this “faith under pressure” process.
First, to “count it all joy” (consider it pure joy – NIV) and to know that the “trying of your faith produces patience.”
Consider It Pure Joy

Before the polishing process, the spiritual diamond is given a simple command of action from God – Count It All Joy or
Consider It Pure Joy
when you fall into various trials (or temptations). The King James Version says “when ye fall into divers
temptations,” which means trials of many kinds. Divers temptations are undefined things that happen in your life, usually when
you least expect them. When they do happen or occur as a Christian you should remain calm and take delight in God. This is
considering it pure joy. If you find joy in God at all times, then the joy of the Lord will be your strength when you are faced with
difficulties in life.

In order to count it pure joy or to count it all joy there must be something on the inside of you to have joy about.
Psalm 119:2
“Blessed are they that keep his testimonies.” Testimonies refer to God’s Word, which are important truths which
concerns God and your relationship to Him. The revealed truth of God’s Word is precious as diamonds and should be
treasured in your heart.

Trying Of Your Faith

James 1:3 says, “You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors

(The Message Bible).” The King James Version says,
“Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.” The
trying of your faith means testing or proving of your faith. When your faith is tested, and you count it all joy standing strong, it
will enhance your belief, your knowledge of, and your confidence in God. When you become strengthen in your inner man in
these areas – you are growing toward spiritual maturity.

By now you should feel yourself
