SPIRITUAL DIAMOND Challenge Day 2
Spiritual Diamond Day 2 Worksheet Below
Welcome to Day 2 of the seven day The Making Of A Spiritual Diamond Challenge.

Today is all about the state a diamond is in once it has been found…
Rough and Uncut!

Once the natural stone has been found the condition it is in is a "rough and uncut" one. It has been beneath the earth covered
with all kinds of debris. Even when it is pushed to the earth's surface it is still covered with debris until the gem cutter gets it
and begins the cutting process.

Spiritually, to grow and mature,
you must be free from the being "rough and uncut." Titus 2:11-14 says "For the grace of
God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures.
We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, while we look forward with hope to that
wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. He gave his life to free us from every
kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds."

You don't want to be a dirty diamond!

To get pass the rough and uncut stage you will need God's grace to empower you with the
courage to change.
A dirty diamond is one of two things: a rough diamond or a diamond
that hasn't been cleaned in a while.

To grow spiritually out of the "rough and uncut" stage you will need to do three things:
take an inward look, let go of some rough and dirty behaviors, and commit to living uprightly.

An
inward look goes beyond recalling the things that happened in a day, week, or month. You need to look closely and reflect
on your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and motivations. Periodically examining your experiences, the decisions you make, the
relationships you have, and the things you engage in provide useful insights on your life goals, on the good traits you must
sustain and the bad traits you have to discard. Moreover, it gives you clues on how to act, react, and conduct yourself in the
midst of any situation. Taking an inward look takes courage and a willingness to seek the truths of God's Word concerning
your life.

Letting go of the rough and unpolished behaviors will position you for spiritual growth. There are three main behaviors
you need to let go.

  • A need to impress others. Spending too much of your time and energy trying to impress other people - seeking their
approval - stunts your spiritual growth.
  • Let go of the need to talk too much! Start embracing the power of your words. Your voice is powerful and what you
say can make a difference in your life or hinder your life.
  • Let go of the past. You can't grow looking backwards constantly. You can't change the past. Be grateful to God for any
experiences that have helped you to grow and embrace today for today. Be your created purpose, not your once lived
    past.

Committing to living uprightly is carried out by making one godly decision - LEARN TO DO RIGHT!
